Speech Pathologist
I graduated from Henderson State University with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology, and graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a master's degree in Communication Disorders.
I am certified as a speech pathologist by the Arkansas Department of Education, have a state license by the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and a national certification by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.
I have attended many workshops in the areas of articulation disorders, apraxia, autism, behavior, phonemic awareness, dyslexia, and fluency. I am priviliged to attend meetings in the fall to gain skills with the Arkansas Speech , Language, and Hearing Association each year, where many topics concerning the field of speech and language disorders are discussed.
I began teaching speech therapy at our school in 1988. I have seen many of my students grow up to be very successful adults.
Prior to coming to Bismarck, I worked many schools who had to share speech therapy services, such as Sheridan, East End, Leola, Sparkman, and Carthage. I also worked at Arkadelphia Public Schools and the Arkadelphia Human Development Center. While working in these different schools and the Human Development Center, I learned many skills which have helped me very much in my job that I do here. I have seem many changes over the years, but my love for my students has remained unchangeable!!
